Citizen Petition to Restore Library Funding 11/19/2009
The November 24 City Council agenda includes a citizen petition that I co-signed in support of our library. The petition, authored by Brenda Landes and signed by 429 residents, calls for a restoration of Berkshire Athenaeum funding to the FY 2009 level.
The library, like all city departments, sustained significant budget cuts for the FY2010 fiscal year. The budget cuts had a direct impact on core services including hours of operation.
Residents who wish to support this petition are encouraged to attend the meeting which takes place at 7:30 PM in the city council chambers.
