New BRTA Routes 08/27/2009
Public Transportation has always been important to me. Soon after starting my first council term in 2006 I began conversations with the BRTA to improve bus service in Ward 4, especially to the apartments on April Lane. I credit Chuck MacNeil with taking a chance on a pilot route serving Dalton Division Road in 2007. That first attempt was not successful but BRTA didn't forget us and the new BRTA Director Gary Shepard recently announced a new circular route that would serve our neighborhood even better.
BRTA is hosting a public hearing to solicit feedback on new proposed routes on August 27th at 2:30pm at their office on the second floor of the Joseph Scelsi Intermodal Transportation Center at 1 Columbus Avenue. I know this is a difficult time for a public hearing but please know that you can also submit comments and suggestions in writing to: BRTA, 1 Columbus Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
